It's Great River Pet Center's mission to make your pet's visit a healthy, safe, and comfortable one. That's why it's very important to make sure your dog or cat's vaccinations are up to date before their stay.

When making your pet's reservations please be prepared to bring their vaccination records.

The following vaccinations must be current prior to boarding:

Dogs

  • Rabies
  • Distemper/Parvo Combo (DHPP)
  • Bordetella: This is very important, because there is a chance that the dog could react to the vaccine, and it can take up to 10 days for this to happen. The shot is similar to the human flu shot, on a rare occasion a dog will react to it, much like we can sometimes react to the flu shot.

It does not prevent the dog from getting Bordetella, but it does assist in them not getting it, and helps to keep the dog from getting as sick from it if it does get Bordetella.

We cannot board dogs who do not have the Bordetella vaccine, but as long as you make sure they get it, if it is done before the 10 day period, we can board the dog as long as you sign a waiver.
